Very cute! Unfortunately I don't have tips for painting water, but it looks like you did great to me! I love the mixture of colors in the water; you didn't just leave it blue and call it a day. It mixes the water into the environment very well. Keep it up, and thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I tried to make it fit into the environment as well as possible, even though some of the blue is still too dark and a wrong shade. When drawing rivers or lakes I almost always get the colours and reflections wrong... Anyway, I'm glad you like it! :)

I'm afraid I have to give you a rather unimpressive answer though. This is a value study I did in Photoshop. I had the source picture (I think this might have been a promotional shot from Lucy) in a Smart Ref window, so I wouldn't be tempted to colourpick the values.
I have done some traditional pieces but haven't picked up a charcoal pencil in years and am sure i wouldn't be able to pull that off... But you know, now I kinda want to try it ^^
